German injection moulding machine manufacturer ARBURG has marked 50 years of collaboration with Rafo AB, its sales and service partner in Sweden, with a certificate. According to ARBURG’s announcement of 4 November 2026, Mariestad-based Rafo AB has been ARBURG’s distributor in Sweden since 1976.
The certificate was presented by ARBURG’s Managing Director for Sales and After-Sales together with Steffen Eppler, Vice President Sales Europe. It was received on behalf of Rafo AB by Anders Jungert and Johan Gotthardsson, who are responsible for sales and technology at the company.
Founded in 1971, ARBURG partner five years later
Rafo AB was founded in 1971 by Bengt Rahmberg and Bo Folkesson; the company name combines the first syllables of the two founders’ surnames (“Ra” and “Fo”). Five years after its foundation, in 1976, the company became ARBURG’s distributor in Sweden. Stefan Folkesson, Bo Folkesson’s son, took over the company in 1984.
According to the announcement, under Stefan Folkesson the company focused more strongly on its core business of machinery and equipment for plastics processing. ARBURG says this proved highly profitable and established Rafo in the Swedish plastics market.
Around ten employees
Today Rafo AB serves customers in Sweden with around ten employees. The company provides expert support, training courses and fast, efficient spare parts delivery.
